Monday Night Football (MNF) is a live television broadcast of the National Football League. Originally airing on the ABC network from 1970 to 2005, MNF was the second longest running prime time show on American broadcast network television (after CBS" 60 Mins) and one of the highest-rated, particularly among male viewers.
Monday Night Football moved to the ESPN cable network in 2006, ending a 36-year run on ABC. ABC and ESPN are both owned by The Walt Disney Company.
Monday Night Football can also be seen in Canada on TSN and RIS, in most of Europe on ESPN America, on Five and Sky Sports in the UK, in most of Australia on One HD and in some regions of the world outside the U.S. on ESPN International. A Spanish language version airs on ESPN Deportes in the U.S. and on ESPN International in Latin America.
After two years of having Mike & Mike & Mike in the booth for the second half of the season-opening MNF doubleheader, ESPN has changed things up.
And to the chagrin of many of you, two of the Mikes will return.
Mike Greenberg and Mike Golic will be joined by Hall of Fame quarterback Steve Young for the Chargers-Raiders game on September 14.
Gone is Mike Ditka, who contributed one of the only memorable moments from the B team"s broadcast.
Mike Greenberg and Mike Golic,co-hosts of ESPN Radio"s popular Mike & Mike in the Morning, will team with ESPN studio analyst and Hall of Fame quarterback Steve Young to call the San Diego Chargers-Oakland Raiders game as part of ESPN"s season-opening Monday Night Football doubleheader on Sept. 14 at 10:15 p.m. ET. The Chargers-Raiders telecast marks the third straight season in which Greenberg (play-by-play) and Golic (analyst) will call the MNF doubleheader and the first for Young, who will continue with his weekly Monday Night Countdown studio role.
